Ann Mazur (Westview Press, 1995).
Example: ěAdvertising implies
that thereís an easy solution to everything, from having friends to being
healthy.î (Cheerios
Can Help Reduce Cholesterol!î)
Reality: Lowering cholesterol requires a diet low
in saturated fat and cholesterol and regular exercise.
3. Put the reality into the image. Do it with words, do it through bubbles, and/or do it with new glued-in images.
4. Other ways to adbust:
A) Cut and paste images and type
out the slogan you want to use.
B) Juxtapose two ads to make
a point.
C) Cross out words in an existing
ad to make a point.
D) Do a play on words with an
existing ad.
F) Replace the visual with another
visual in the ad to make a critical point.
G) Cut and paste the product
on a poster and create a whole new slogan that that shows
the reality of that product.
