Suggestions for Adbusting

1. Find an ad that seems false or half true. Now list all the real truth not   reflected in the ad.

2. Find an ad that reflects one of the ěTwenty-Seven Problems with    Advertisingî  found in Marketing Madness:A           Guide for a Consumer   Society, by Micheal F. Jacobson and Laurie Ann Mazur  (Westview   Press, 1995).

Example: ěAdvertising implies that thereís an easy solution to everything, from having friends to being healthy.î         (Cheerios    Can Help Reduce Cholesterol!î)
Reality: Lowering cholesterol requires a diet low in saturated fat and    cholesterol and regular exercise.

3. Put the reality into the image. Do it with words, do it through bubbles, and/or do it with new glued-in images.
