Introduction
When it involves information, someone once said, "Believe very little of what you hear, half of what you read and most of what you actually see for yourself."   We live in a world of information.  People use the world wide web as a major source of information.  Students must be able to evaluate and validate sources of information they find and use on world wide web pages.  This lesson will familiarize students with ways to determine and analyse the validity of information presented on World Wide Web pages.

Introductory Activity

Examine a preselected  website.  This should be of dubious validity and spark some interest in students.

Enabling Activity(ies)

Students will read, "Knowing What's What and What's Not."   

Students will develop their own "Site Validity Rubric"  to assess the potential quality, accuracy, and validity of information presented in the pre-selected websites.   Coenzyme-Q ,  et. al.
 

Culminating Activity

Locate one example of websites that demonstrate  high, medium, and questionable  validity based upon use of the student made validity rubric.
 
 

Assessment

Insert your grading rubric for the culminating activity or a link to your rubric or test document file.
 
 

Results
After implementing your lesson (sometime between January & March), insert a chart of your pre-test, post-test, and culminating assessment data.
