Introduction
This unit is about troublesome spelling words--words
that sound the same, but are spelled differently and mean different things.
These words are especially difficult for second language learners.

1. After students
are introduced to a list of common and not so common
homographs, they
will practice using them in various ways on the internet
and at their desks.
2. Students
will teach lessons on homophones to each other.
3. After students
have practiced the various uses and spelling of the
homophones, they
will write a fairy tale, using the correct homophones from
their lists.
