You are about to embark on a radical journey into the world of the Maidu & Miwok Indians of the Sacramento and El Dorado Counties.  

Your Mission  Web Quest...Web Quest...
 The class will be divided into two tribes by your teacher.  You will be able to choose what "expert" field you will represent form the following list: 

  • Archeologist
  • Architect
  • Geologist
  • Meteorologist
  • Sociologist
  • Linguist
  • Culinary expert
  • Fashion expert
  • Artisan

You will explore the following aspects of the Maidu or Miwok tribe according to your field of expertise.  Information to be covered will include:

  • Native Americans basics
  • Common Misconceptions
  • Culture
  • Geography & Landforms
  • Climate
  • Language
  • Clothing
  • Food
  • Art
  • Architecture
  • Artifacts

You will be presenting your information at a Tribal Powwow at the end of the project.  You can explore more information about what a Powwow is at the Powwow link page.
