Introduction
In this lesson, students are introduced to the concepts of strategic deterrence and mutually assured destruction and the roles they played during the Cold War.  Students are exposed to the feelings, attitudes, and political issues prevalent during the years of the nuclear weapons race.  Students will engage in role playing to encourage empathy with people of that era. Ultimately, students will create a web or powerpoint presentation describing the major events, and their geopolitical consequences, of the Cold War.
