Jockey ("D.J.") responsible for
allocating their daily program time into fractional
time slots for the playing of specified catagories of music and commercial
advertisements.

Instructional Objectives
1. After
viewing an animated and/or virtual demonstration of fractions
with unlike denominators being transformed into like denominators
for the purpose of being added or subtracted, studentst will be able
to perform the task of doing the same with musical
selections and
commercial "ads".
2. After
analyzing information from an ____________________C.D.
students will be able to perform both a written and/or verbal
demonstration of the proceedures utilized to solve addition and/or
subtraction of fractions with unlike denominators.
Student Activities
Introductory Activity
1.
Student will be given the choice of selecting ( working for)
their favorite radio station or choosing one of those provided
by the teacher/facillitator.
2.
Student will choose their professional name and
the hours
they will be on the air.
Enabling Activity(ies)
1.
Student will be given the management directive and station
policy relative to airplay format.
2.
Student will be instructed to use their personal, creative
style
in the selection and order of songs as well as available commercial
advertisements that are aired during their program.
3.
The "Rule of thumb" for the fictional radio station is as
follows:
- ALL "D.J.'s" produce three-hour daily programs;
-Program configuration matrix for airplay-
TOP "40' - two-fifths
RAP/HIP HOP - one-eigth
CLASSIC ROCK/R&B - one- fourth
COMMERCIAL "ADS" - one-fifth
(applies to each 180 minute program slot)
